Geopark-biking at Saimaa archipelago

Saimaa and its geo-attractions biking tour!

Refresh by cycling in the vast landscapes and fresh winds of Great Lake Saimaa! Discover the top destinations in the southern region of Saimaa Geopark! Experience nice, personalized local accommodations along the route. You will cycle the route at your pace with your own group.You will you will receive detailed instructions and meet a guide at at least at one Saimaa geopark geosite during your tour.

This biking experience will take you about 160 km along  Saimaa Archipelago Route through Southern Saimaa's natural wonders and Geo-sites. It starts from a 400-year-old fortress and follows the first and second bar ridge formed in the ice age. On the way, you will cross Saimaa three times with a ferry and spend the first night on the bar ridge in the middle of Great-Saimaa. You will experience the famous Finnish sauna and the white night of the north. On the way, you will visit the Riviera of Saimaa and stop there for a guided tour and Geo food. The route will continue to the magical church and bell tower of the City of the lions. The second evening you can spend admiring the "Niagara" of Europe and visiting the oldest protected area in Finland with its mystical potholes. You will spend the evening next to the famous river. The tour will end in the same magical fortress as it began.

Accommodation

On the first night, you will experience barn accommodation on Salpausselkä ridge and a Finnish sauna next to the lake. For the second night, you will accommodate in Imatra city and enjoy an evening sauna on the Vuoksi river shore.

Bike

The bike is not included in the package price, because we wish that you have a pleasant trip and chose the right model for you. Let us know if you want a hybrid bike or electric bike.
